The printing center Artes Gráficas del Atlántico, S. A. forms part of the Editorial Prensa Ibérica group, one of the most important Spanish editorial groups with a wide international scope.
The activity it develops is based on the printing of newspapers, magazines and commercial leaflets by offset press for large or medium circulation or by digital press for small circulation or personalized products.
From the beginning of the company in 1988, it has been characterized by offering the best service to the client, paying special attention to the quality of the printed product, short delivery times and competitive prices. These reasons, together with the constant incorporation of the most advanced technology, have lead Artes Gráficas del Atlántico, S.A. to achieve a position of leadership in the sector of graphic art as a printing center with offset press.
The plant uses energy provided by its own wind farm that includes four aerogenerators with a total installed power of 900 kW.
Artes Gráficas del Atlántico, S.A. is the first printing center in the Canary Islands to obtain the Certificate of Environmental Management in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 14001:1996 standard. It is also the 12th company (E.IC.000012) registered in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands in accordance with Regulation CE 761/2001 (EMAS) Community System of Eco-Management and Audit Scheme. Companies and organizations join this system voluntarily, acting as a guarantee to society of the efforts made by the company in order to control and minimize the significant environmental impact resulting from their activity.
In the year 2005, the company obtained the Certificate of Quality Management for printing newspapers, magazines and commercial catalogs based on ISO Standard 9001:2004. In the year 2009, it obtained the Occupational Health and Safety Certificate based on OSHAS Standard 18001:2007. In May 2012, the chain of custody system was certified in accordance with the international standards FSC and PEFC.
